Definitely hit that dark synthwave vibe, good one!

I really like that section at the end, really made the whole track feel whole.

my two critiques are that some of the stops felt somewhat redundant, making transitions not as smooth as they could've been, and the intro is, indeed, too long.

I'm keen to see what you'll do with this style of music in the future! Glad to hear new music from you again.

Yeah stopping is a bit of a cop out to transition. It shows my inexperience with th genre. I listen to a lot of synthwave and sometimes it's really draggy, sometimes more ambient than a driving structure so I do think the intro is long, but I'm not sure it's a problem in this case. I don't think my other tracks will have this issue though.
